And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectations of the Jewish people”
(Acts 12:11)
The Old and New Testament contain at least 300 references to angels. Everywhere in the Christian Bible and also in the Holy Qur’an of the Islamic religion, there are examples of angels at work. Story after story tells about the work of angels.
When Peter was arrested for preaching the gospel, the church prayed. And in answer to their prayers, God dispatched an angel to deliver Peter, who was in such deep sleep, the Bible tells us, the angel had to strike him to wake him up. The chains fell of his wrists, the prison door opened automatically, and peter walked out.
Angels have special work they do in your life (Hebrews 1:14). “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (That is an awakening from self-consciousness to God-consciousness and not a physical transportation from earth to heaven).
Angels are God’s secret agents. They are God’s ministering spirits, protecting, delivering and guiding you. You don’t see them. You don’t need to try to engage them. You don’t need to try to communicate with them. They are simply doing the work God has called them to do.
Meditate on God’s angelic protection for you and your family.
