At 40 years, the eagle would have grown long and curved beaks and heavy feathers such that it can hardly eat or fly. It has the choice to live on or die and it chooses to live.

To live, the eagle eventually goes into hiding in remote mountains or very tall trees where no one can interrupt during its hideout period. It removes its old wings and claws with its beak. Then it hits its beak on a hard surface till the old layer is removed. It then waits for its beak, wings and feathers to grow anew. All these periods, it will be without food or water: sort of fasting. This takes off excess fats and renews the strength of the eagle. Wonderful! Isn’t it? With the new feathers, claws and beak, imagine the new heights it can fly to, how swift it can fly and capture its preys and exploit new territories. That is what we call rebranding.

It can live for another 30 years in a new branded life of health, vitality and newness. The Holy Bible compares people who brand themselves to the branding life of the eagle in Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Some crabs renew their claws and snakes get out of old skins. If animals are branding and renewing their lives then there is no need for arguing over the necessity of branding our lives as human beings because this is part of the journey to unleashing and activating your potentials in life.

If you don’t brand your life, the best scripture for you will be Proverbs 6:6-7 which says, “Go to the ant you lazy person, observe her ways and be wise; which having no chief, officer or ruler; Prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provision in the harvest.”
